They Call Me Little V
Mini chola history
Eveyone knows the makeup of the Chola culture. The thin eyebrows, the defined lip liner, the deep eyeliner. That being said the chola culture has and is still making an impact till today. Even though there has been some changes to the chola makeup.
Lets get into the history… just a bit of history, I am not going to get to into it cuz I don’t wanna lose you since you are probably here to learn to makeup ideas or know a little more about this type of look and how you can probably use in to vamp up your look.
Cholo became a sign of pride in the civil right movement in 1960s the 1970s. Chola is the feminine form of cholo, and normally being referred as the cholos partner which that isn’t that case. Also many people believe cholos are some type of gang. It might be taking that way since, through out time since some people will interrupt a different way. But how it started was as a movement, in the middle class. As a way to represent the Mexican culture.
What’s the look
The makep, the hair and clothing, each piece was part to together to form the style. Think of the style of a flapper girl. Similar concept a rebellious female that wants to stick out and wants to change history or just turn heads.
The lips normally are done with a dark liner traced to enhance the lips .making them look plumped. Which is what they mostly are for some. And it was a way to be proud of our features. Which I would say when I was younger girls would always comment on my lips. Making me feel a little uncomforable, but not terrible I’ve always loved my features but I can see some feeling bad and out of place looking a little different. Even though now everyone is wanting those plumped lips.
The eyes have a thick wing on the eye lid that will define your eye giving it a more dramatic look. Every eye catching (pun not intended but accepted haha). Now the eyebrows have changed through time once they were thin in the 1920s same as the flapper brows. Now they are a little more thicker each form the face a lot more and completes everything.
The hair, and lets get big! I would say it involved a lot of hair spray and some bobby pins. Similar to civil war area (Think Peggy in captain America). But with time the hair style has grown and envoled too more involving braids and the hair is down wearing a bandana as a headpiece.
Now I just wanted to talk a little of the makeup. But ill breakdown a little of the style. There lots of plaid in the wearedore. Id say the style is pretty baggy, comfy. Tops under a oversized plaid is normally paired with a white t-shirt, or a tank top. Let’s not forget the hoop gold earrings a statement piece. The make up isn’t too crazy with thin eyebrows that frame your face. Winged style eyeliner, but the lips those are another statement look. With a dark lip liner outline those lips and a lighter lip color in inside. If you are thinking of testing this making look. I recommend
